KARACHI, July 10: A private TV channel complained on Sunday that police did not register an FIR against Sindh Minister for Works and Services Zulfikar Mirza, his guards and companions for harassing its team which was on a professional assignment.

The Geo TV team, comprising Shoaib Burney, cameraman Zubair and others, claimed that they were on an assignment to cover Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s engagements when they were “intercepted by the minister and his associates, who hurled abuses at them and their media organisation.”

They said the incident took place on M.A. Jinnah Road. They alleged the team’s camera and the cassette of footage were snatched, broken and taken away by the guards at gunpoint and some team members were forcibly pushed into police vans.—Staff Reporter
