KARACHI, Oct 27: Mudassar Nazar, who was sacked as Pakistan coach during ICC Champions Trophy in Colombo last month, has resigned from his post at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore late Saturday night.
The former Test opening batsman, also a useful bowler, handed in his resignation to Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Lt Gen Tauqir Zia at a meeting.
Strangely, Mudassar, 46, has cited business commitments as the reason for quitting.
Mudassar was replaced by South African-based English coach Richard Pybus after Pakistan suffered a series of reversals in the one-day tournaments in Morocco, Kenya and Sri Lanka.
