MANSEHRA, Oct 27: The residents of Shinkiari blocked the Karakoram Highway on Sunday to protest against non-supply of water to the town for the last few weeks.

The protestors led by Fida Mohammad Khan, former chairman of the union council Shinkiari, and a general councillor, Liaquat Ali, chanted slogans against the XEN public health engineering department.

They alleged that the authorities were bent upon victimising the people of Shinkiari town.

Later, Maulana Qazi Wasiur Rehman, Nazim of union council Shinkiari, held discussions with the protestors and assured them that water supply would be restored. On his assurance, the protesters ended the blockade and dispersed peacefully.
