PESHAWAR, Oct 27: The killing of Rehmat Khan alias Baba Khan, an Orakzai elder, less than 20 metres away from the Bhana Mari police station, has exposed the city police’s claim of improved law and order situation.

The property dispute between the Orakzai family and the residents of Regi started in 1870, which has claimed lives of more than 20 person including the pedestrians and policemen.

Sources told Dawn that the residents of Regi had formed a ‘commando group’ led by Jan and Mukhtar Khalil, against the Orakzai family. This groups is said to have killed many Orakzais, including, Mohammad Yousaf Orakzai, the former IGP NWFP, and cousin of Baba Khan.
