PESHAWAR, Oct 27: The National Awami Party Pakistan (NAPP) has constituted a seven-member committee for contacting other nationalist, democratic and progressive forces in the NWFP, Balochistan and Sindh to forge an alliance.
According to a press release issued on Sunday, a resolution was unanimously adopted for the formation of the committee in the general council meeting of the NAPP on Saturday.
The committee comprises Arbab Mohammad Ayub Jan, Lateef Afridi, Shahabuddin Khan, Saleem Khan, Qaiser Khan, Hidayatullah Bacha and Sardar Hussain Bacha.
The committee members will contact individuals and parties in the three provinces and try to convince them for a united struggle.
Through another resolution, the meeting condemned the harassment of a NAPP leader and a candidate for NA-43, Bajaur, Shahabuddin Khan, and his supporters by the political administration.
It urged the administration not to harass the leaders and workers of the party. It was stated that a number of Shahabuddin’s supporters had gone into hiding due to fear of being victimised by the administration.
The meeting asked the chief election commissioner and district returning officer to conduct re-counting of votes for PF-9, Peshawar-IX, and alleged that 800 votes of NAPP leader Arbab Ayub Jan were declared invalid in the constituency.
