KARACHI: Recounting continues

Published October 24, 2002

KARACHI, Oct 23: The recounting of votes in two of the three constituencies — NA-255, PS-103 and PS-118 — continued on the third consecutive day on Wednesday without any result.

The recounting in NA-255 could not be continued on Wednesday at the National Stadium, where it had took place during the last two days, due to shifting of the venue around 3pm to the city courts by the returning officer.

However, despite change of the venue, recounting in two other poling stations of the constituency was reportedly completed. So far, only six of the 194 polling stations have been covered.

In PS-103, 20 more polling stations were covered making the total covered stations 65 out of 90.

In PS-118, recounting could not be held which will be taken up on Thursday. Only 54 out of the 92 stations had been covered on Tuesday.
