PESHAWAR, Oct 22: The Peshawar district and sessions judge, Ziauddin Khattak, here on Tuesday started inquiry into the killing of a teenaged boy by the local police and recorded statement of the boy’s father.

Misal Khan, father of the deceased boy Kashmir Khan, told the presiding officer, who has been assigned the responsibility of conducting the judicial inquiry by the provincial government, that his son was killed in a fake police encounter.

After recording the statement, the presiding officer has summoned for Oct 24 three police officers including the concerned SHO, Banamari police station, Abdul Malik Khan, and owner of the house where the boy was allegedly killed.

The boy, Kashmir Khan, was killed by the officials of Banamari police station, claiming that he was a notorious outlaw, Qaseem Wardak. The SHO, Abdul Malik, claimed that they had killed him in a police encounter. The police high ups praised the Banamari police and announced awards for the police party.

Two days after his death, his old father, Misal Khan, addressed a press conference claiming that the deceased was not Qaseem Wardak, rather he was his son, Kashmir Khan. The deceased was student of ninth class in a local school and had recently got admission in an English language course.

Misal Khan told the inquiry officer that his son was a brilliant student and was 16 years old. He claimed that he was never required in any criminal case nor he was ever arrested for any anti-social activity.

He requested the court to summon eye witnesses of the occurrence including owner of the residence where the police claimed his son had gone for the purpose of robbery.
