Hospital building declared dangerous

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 21: About half portion of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Yazman, has been evacuated due to the poor condition of its building.

The building was declared dangerous after it developed cracks only a few months after its construction at a cost of Rs20 million. Some of the roofs have been supported by poles.

The 40-bed hospital now poses a threat to the lives of patients and the staff members.

Tehsil Nazim Haji Abbas Shahid says the Bahawalpur district Nazim has been informed and an action against the contractor and the responsible officials of the Buildings Department will be recommended to the government.
