HYDERABAD, Oct 19: The University of Sindh has constituted vigilance teams to visit examination centres during the annual examinations 2002.
The examinations will begin on Nov 23 at the affiliated colleges of the university.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the consultative committee of the university held here on Saturday.
The meeting discussed arrangements for the examinations and decided that the candidates would be registered by the colleges according to their capacity, space and available furniture.
The meeting appointed a committee to check the capacity in the colleges.
The meeting also decided that a monitoring cell would be established in the office of the controller of examinations during the annual examinations.
It was informed that the university had already formed more disciplinary committees to quickly decide cases of unfair practice.
BOGUS DEGREE: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, has announced that the marks and degree certificates of BA-I annual examination of 1984 under seat 4,614, and BA-II annual examination 1985 under seat 3,420, in the name of Mohammad Khan, son of Shah Nawaz Junejo, were found bogus.
A candidate with the same name and father’s name has been elected MNA on the Pakistan Muslim League (F) ticket from NA-236 (Sanghar-III).
However, it could not be ascertained whether he is the same person whose degree of BA was found bogus or not.
LECTURE: The department of Management Sciences, University of Sindh, is organizing a lecture on “Higher education reforms in universities” on Oct 25.
The vice chancellor of the university, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, who is also a member of the steering committee on higher education, will deliver the lecture.
WORKSHOP: The Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Sindh, in collaboration with the Pakistan Scientific Technological Information Centre, is holding a four- day workshop on “Library automation” from 23 to 26 October at the Allama I.I. Kazi Central Library, University of Sindh.
