Army deployed across BD

DHAKA, Oct 17: The government has deployed army across the country, including the capital, on Thursday in order to improve the law and order situation. The army moved in after a cabinet decision in this regard on Wednesday night.

Later, the army went on to arrest a large number of people across the country. Those apprehended included three ward commissioners of the Dhaka City Corporation belonging to the ruling BNP.

The army did not seek any cooperation from the police in conducting the raids.
