KARACHI, Oct 17: Three ships carrying DAP fertilizer and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where three ships, Karine, to offload and load containers, Bereketka to unload chemicals and Jorogn to offload palm oil were berthed after the departure of six.
The ships, which departed included APL Portugal, Karine, Global Power, Sakala and Johar, while Jorogn, Hammurabi, Global Paramount, Chitral and Umberto are due to sail out on Friday.
Berth occupancy at the oil piers was maintained on the higher side at 67 per cent thanks to steady arrivals of tankers, while it fell to 44 per cent on the dry wharves.
A total tonnage of 78,633 tons comprising 6,833 tons of export cargo including 3,514 tons of wheat and 71,800 tons of import tonnage, mostly oils was handled.
The following ships are due on Friday: Heluan, Wan Hai-303 and Kota Teraju, with containers and general cargo.
KARACHI, Oct 17: Three ships scheduled to load and offload wheat, edible oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Multipurpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.
Meanwhile, five more vessels carrying chemicals, iron ore, diesel oil and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.
Seven ships were at the berths loading/discharging wheat, container, edible oil, chemicals and iron ore.
A cargo volume of 39,931 tons comprising 32,213 tons of import cargo and 7,718 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 360 containers (Teus), was handled.
Sailing remained modest as only one ship, Bruxelles sailed out.
Three ships, Norasia Engiading, Francisca Schulte and Sita Kathrine were due to take berths at QICT and Fotco Oil Terminal.
