KARACHI, Oct 16: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, has debarred two of the HSC annual examination candidates for two years for using abusive and obscene language in their answer scripts.
Sources in the Board said the students were penalized under the unfair means rules. Their results for the year have been cancelled and the students would not be able to appear in the examinations for another two years.
The students resorted to write filthy language in reply to some questions. The answer scripts belonged to language papers.
While making sentences and writing essay, the two students at separate exams resorted to write amusing details. The overall performance of the students, however, was not satisfactory, as they failed to secure marks against other questions as well.
A board official said the BIE was in a position to take action against using uncalled for languages in answer scripts. Under rule III-C of the examinations, actions can be taken against students for using abusive language.
