Published October 16, 2002

KARACHI, Oct 15: Members of the minority Hindu community in the city, like those in others parts of the world, celebrated their annual festival of Dussehra on Tuesday.

Hindus celebrate Dussehra to mark the victory of Lord Rama over the forces of evil.

Special religious meetings were held in many city temples, with the central function being organized at the Shree Swami Narayan Temple opposite the KMC building on M.A. Jinnah Road in the evening. Religious leaders in their sermons urged the people to follow the teachings of Lord Rama.

Special prayers for the integrity and the solidarity of the country and prosperity of the community were also offered.
