KARACHI, Oct 14: Two men were killed in the city on Monday.
A man was shot dead in Eidgah. Police said Arif Shah, aged 35, resident of Qayyumabad, came to see his friend Rafique on Hira Lal Gandra Road in Eidgah. Unidentified men opened fire on him when he came out of his friend’s shop.
He was rushed to Civil Hospital where he died.
A man was stabbed to death in a shanty town of North Nazimabad.
Two men stabbed Bashir Ahmed, who died on the spot. The assailants were relations of the victim. One of the assailants was also injured. The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.
Police arrested the two suspected killers, Mohammed Aslam and Mohammed Akram, who are brothers.
Police said Bashir, resident of Mohammed Husain goth near Niaz Manzil in North Nazimabad, was running a family feud with his relations Aslam and Akram for the past couple of months. These men told police that Bashir had threatened them with dire consequences if they were seen in his area.
The suspects told police that on Monday when they were near Bashir’s house, he attacked them with a dagger. As a result, Akram was injured. In retaliation they stabbed Bashir repeatedly. A case was registered and investigations are under way.
Carjacking: Twenty-one vehicles — five cars and 16 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Monday, police said.
Two cars were hijacked. Three others were stolen. The cars were hijacked/ stolen in different localities, including Saddar, PIB Colony, Landhi and Gulberg.
Seven motorcycles were hijacked. Nine others were stolen.
The motorcycles were stolen/hijacked in various areas, including Samanabad, Al-Falah, Landhi, Korangi, Soldier Bazaar, Brigade and Jamshed Quarters.
Police also claimed on Monday to have recovered two stolen cars (N-5774, PG-3242) and seven motorcycles (KAS-4418, KCD-1375, KCA-3819, HDH-2906, DGD- 7949, KCK-6677 and KCX-7053).
