ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: A two-member Swiss delegation will arrive on Sunday to discuss remaining pending part of the convention for avoidance of double taxation with respect to taxes on income between the two countries.
The Swiss delegation to be led by deputy head of the division for international fiscal law and double taxation, Eric Hess and Christoph Schelling, said an official source in the Central Board of Revenue.
For concluding the convention, the tax officials of the two countries so far have seven rounds of face to face talks to conclude a revised agreement. Agreement on most of the articles is achieved after pretty tough sessions and only a few articles require further deliberations, said the official.
The convention for avoidance of double taxation between Pakistan and Switzerland was concluded in the late 50s and made operative in October 1960. It was subsequently modified in respect of some of the provisions through a supplementary protocol in 1964.
