KARACHI, Oct 11: Two young men died in road accidents in the city on Friday.

An 18-year-old young man, Irfan, riding on a bicycle, was run over by a speeding passenger coach (PE-4671) on Hub River Road near Saeedabad in the morning.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The young man was resident of Saeedabad.

Police claimed to have arrested the coach driver, identified as Ghani, and impounded the vehicle.

Asmatullah Niazi, aged 35, was knocked down by an unidentified speeding vehicle on Qasim Shah Jilani Road in the police limits of Mochko.

Police said Niazi, father of four, was walking across the road when the accident took place. He died on the spot.

His body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Eight passengers were injured when a minibus of route W-11 (PE-1107) overturned at Madni bus top in New Karachi in the morning.

The injured were identified as Ashraf, Qadir, Imran, Kashif, Talib, Sultan, Tahir and Sharif. They were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Some of them were sent home after first aid.

An unidentified man died when he came under the wheels of a train near Cantt railway station. The body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem. The body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.

KILLED: A young girl was stabbed to death outside her house in Chakiwara on Friday.

Police said that Sanya, aged 15, daughter of Jameel Iqbal, was stabbed outside her house on Wali Mohammed Hasan Ali Road near Eidgah. The unidentified assailants escaped.

The girl was rushed to Civil Hospital where she died.
