Injury scare for Jansher

Published October 10, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Oct 9: Jansher Khan, who was to play some exhibition matches in England ahead of this month’s CAS International Squash Championship in Peshawar, has pulled out apparently because of a back strain.

The former champion has informed the organisers in England that he is not fit and therefore he wouldn’t be playing.

Jansher’s decision has put a question mark over his chances in the $25,000 CAS Championship where he will be competing on a wildcard.

The 33-year-old great who is making a comeback after retiring in 1998, appeared in the CNS International Championship in Karachi last month but lost in the quarterfinals.
