Three die in shelling

SIALKOT, Oct 8: Three villagers were killed and two seriously injured in the Indian mortar shelling on the Shakargarh-Narowal sector of the Sialkot working boundary on Tuesday.

According to official sources, Indian troops shelled villages situated between the Sukhmaal and Dhulmaan posts along the border between 8am to 3pm, killing three villagers — Saifullah 36, Mohibullah 30, and Sultan Ali 55. Two others — Mohammad Ishaq, 28 and Mohammad Ehsan — sustained injuries. All these villagers were working in their fields when mortar shells hit them.

The injured were admitted to Sialkot CMH in critical condition.

The sources said that several houses were also damaged in the shelling.

They said the firing between the Indian and Pakistani security forces in the Shakargarh-Narowal sector was going on till the filing of this report.
