DADU, Oct 6: Five PPP workers and a PML(Q) worker were injured in a clash between PPP and PML(Q) activists in Radhan town on Saturday night.

A caravan of Liaquat Ali Jatoi, candidate of the PML(Q) for NA-233 and PS-76, and his younger brother, Sadaqat Ali Jatoi, candidate for PS-77, left the Betto Jatoi village to attend a public gathering in Radhan town.

Near a rice factory at Radhan town, the caravan came across a large number of PPP workers. Soon an argument started between the activists of both parties leading to a clash.

The workers of both the groups started aerial firing. Then they started hurling stones on one another and also started using clubs as a result of which the bodyguard of Liaquat Ali Jatoi, Deedar Khoso, was injured seriously while five PPP workers — Ghulam Dastagir, Bakhshal, A. Bukhsh, Altaf, and Hussain — were also injured.

Soon a heavy contingent of police, led by DPO Ali Akbar Bhangwar, arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

Four of the injured PPP workers namely Ghulam Dastagir, Bakhshal, A. Bux, and Altaf — were arrested.

The PPP candidate for PS-77, Qazi Shafique Ahmed Mahessar, and 24 other PPP activists were nominated in an FIR.
