KARACHI, Oct 6: The Karachi University has received a grant of Rs1.5 million from the ministry of science and technology for PhD and MPhil programmes of the science faculty.
According to a KU announcement, the grant has been given to the science faculty where 60 teachers are working on PhD and MPhil programmes so that they could equip their laboratories with the necessary chemicals and meet other requirements for the research work.
The grant is also reflective of the commitment of the ministry for promotion of science and technology in the country.
SEMESTER: The semester examination cell of the University of Karachi has said that second semester examinations will begin from Nov 15.
According to a notification on Sunday, the candidates appearing for the second time or past candidates who had not completed the degree programme, can appear in the examinations by paying a fee of Rs200 per course from Oct 14 to 21. They would be required to pay a fee of Rs300 per course from Oct 22 to 25.
The regular students who could not deposit the fee for the second semester within the stipulated period can appear in the examinations after paying a late fee of Rs500 in addition to the regular fee from Oct 14 to 21.
The students who enrolled themselves before 1996 for BA, BSc (hons), before 1997 for MSc and before 1998 for BLIS, MLIS, certificate, diploma PGD courses and before 1995 B. Pharmacy, and BS will be ineligible for the examination. The examination forms are available at the respective departments.—APP
