TEHRAN, Oct 6: Iran condemned on Sunday remarks by a US Baptist minister and described it as insults to the world Muslims, the news network Khabar reported.
Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi described the remarks by Baptist minister Jerry Falwell as insult to holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and declaration of a religious war by the US and Israel against the Islamic world to which the Islamic states must react.
In an interview with a US television station, Falwell used highly derogatory remarks against the holy prophet.
Tehran press reports said huge protest demonstrations were planned in the religious cities of Qom and Mashhad to condemn the remarks.—dpa
