KARACHI, Nov 12: Nazims of districts and the District Coordination Officers will supervise the three-day census of educational institutions in the public and private sectors, commencing on Nov 13 in the province.

The Sindh Education Department on Monday urged the people to report to the census personnel about the functions and facilities available at government institutions in their respective areas. The scope of the school census, which is in vogue for the last many years, has been enhanced this years in order to review the availability positions of different amenities and facilities at all the government and private educational institutions, said a senior officer at the department.

The department is enjoying the support of newly elected Nazims, Naib Nazims, councillors for the census. The Executive District Officers (Education) would act as registration officers.

The spokesman said that teachers as well as people from the respective community should come up to join hands with the census officials so that a correct data regarding available furnitures, scientific equipment, water and electricity system, boundary wall, lavatories, sports facilities, including playground at the educational institutions could be prepared for further planning and improvements in the educational sector.

The Education Department has also asked its officers to collect necessarily data from private educational institutions also. The registration of any private educational institution failing to cooperate with the census staff could be cancelled, while persons found responsible for furnishing any incorrect information related to census would also be liable to departmental actions, including noting of adverse remarks in ACRs.

According to Education department’s plan, heads of the government run educational institutions would furnish the required information to the office of Assistance District Officers on Nov 13 and 14, who after verification of details would issue a copy of the report to all the heads.

On Nov 15, Nazims, Naib Nazims, councillors, EDOs and district census supervisors would not only ensure that all the institutions had provided the required information to the authorities, but would also ensure the authenticity of the reports submitted by heads of institutions, added the official.
