MANSEHRA, Oct 5: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) leader Qazi Hussain Ahmad has claimed that the alliance of the six religious parties would remain intact for ever.

Speaking at an election rally here on Saturday, he said that the secular elements had been criticising the religious parties on the ground that the leaders of these parties had different sects and divergent interpretation of Quran and Sunnat, hence, they were not sincere in the promulgation of Shariat in the country.

Qazi, however, stressed that by putting their signatures on Islamabad Declaration last year, the leaders of the six religious parties had proved that they were united against all the conspiracies against Islam and Muslim Ummah.

NWFP MMA general secretary of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Jamiat Ulema-i-Islami Maulana Gul Naseeb, MMA Mansehra president Maulana Qazi Rafiq-ur-Rehman Qamar, Maulana Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah, Dr Tariq Sherazi of Jamaat-i-Islami, Mufti Kifayatullah of the JUI(F) and Pakistan Democratic Party Mansehra president Mohammad Javed Khan Swati also spoke on the occasion.

ISLAMIC STATE: Speaking at another election rally at the Hockey Stadium in Abbottabad here, the JI chief said that the people had got an opportunity to bring about a change and rid themselves of corrupt rulers and politicians.

The religious parties had got united for the first time on the pressing demand of the people and it was the turn of the voters to support the MMA that would make the country a real Islamic state, he said.

While reading out the salient features of the MMA manifesto, Mr Ahmed remarked that their first priority would be to fully implement Islam

Criticizing the government, the JI chief said Gen Musharraf was working on what he called the “hidden agenda” of the United States for which a high cost had been paid in the shape of bloodshed of Muslims in Afghanistan.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) NWFP President Naseeb Gul and the candidates of the MMA from the Abbottabad district also spoke.
