HYDERABAD, Oct 5: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has said he is neither running the campaign of any candidate nor is he supporting any party for the October 10 election.
He was inaugurating a girls hostel of the Hyderabad Public School and talking to newsmen here Friday night.
He expressed the hope the polling would be peaceful but added help from the army would be sought if needed.
Answering a question about the MQM allegations that there were some “no-go areas” in Karachi, the governor said there were no such areas.
About his Thatta speech, Soomro said he had praised the services of Sherazi brothers for the cause of people and had never supported their candidates.
He said no one would be allowed to create hurdles in the election process.
The Sindh governor urged the administration of the school to introduce “A” and “O” levels in the institution with a view to improving the standard of education.
He announced Rs7 million for the construction of the girls hostel.
He said the government had taken steps to increase the role of women in all walks of life.
Later, Soomro attended a dinner, hosted in his honour by the Hyderabad High Court Bar Association, at a local hotel.
