KARACHI, Oct 5: Waka Raag- an interesting fusion of Japanese and Pakistani poetry, local Raag and classical dance, has been arranged by the Japan Cultural Centre of the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi on October 6, at Karachi Gymkhana.

Sindh Minister for Finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez, will be the chief guest, says an announcement on Saturday.

Translation in Urdu will be rendered by Shahnaz Noor and Ali Asim. Original Urdu Waka is by Mohsin Bhopali.

The Raag has been composed by Arshad Mehmood and Javed Allah Ditta, The singing will be by Madam Farida Khanum, Talat Hashmi and Wahab Khan.

Classical dance and choreography will be performed by Ms Nighat Chaudhry.

The event will be directed and supervised by Fatima Suriya Bajiya, while the compering will be by Munira Nadeem.—APP
