CHARSADDA, Jan 21: Lauding the efforts of Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in rehabilitation process, Provincial Law Minister Arshad Abdullah has called for coordinated response to overcome the problems of the flood-hit people.

He was talking to reporters after visiting various projects and attending a briefing on the SRSP's activities in the district the other day. The organisation also provided technical training to the flood-affected people to enable them to work in various organisations.

Earlier, the minister said that the organisation had distributed food packages, school bags and non-food items among 19,000 flood victims, 4,000 families and 1,490 schoolchildren.

The minister said that the programmes of SRSP were focused and based on community needs and addressed the people's problems holistically. He said both during the relief phase and the early recovery phase the SRSP teams in the area had worked closely with government to address pressing issues.

The CEO of SRSP Masood ul Mulk said that the SRSP through assistance from USAID would continue to support livelihood programmes in the area for the next three years.

He appreciated the support SRSP had received from KP government to build its capacity to deliver targeted poverty programmes in the province. SHOT DEAD:

Two youths were killed in different areas of Charsadda on Thursday. In the first incident Rizwan opened fire on Ismail in Wardaga area of Sardheri killing him on the spot. The reason behind the killing was a woman dispute. The accused opened fire after exchange of hot words with the victim.

In the second incident in Tangi area Ihsanul Haq, Dost Mohammad, Javed, Muzaffar and Iftikhar opened fire on Nasar killing him on the spot. Niaz Ali, brother of the deceased, registered a case against the accused in Tangi police station.
