RAWALPINDI, Oct 2: A security guard was shot injured by two robbers, who ransacked a money changer in broad daylight near Chandni chowk on Wednesday.

Two masked persons stormed Zarco money changer, snatched the gun from the security g, Hadayat Khan, and shot injured him before entering the office. They held the cashier at gunpoint, snatched Rs87.000 from him and escaped.

While quoting the robbery victim, the police said the culprits escaped on a motorcycle. However, the Banni police recorded the statements of eyewitnesses.

Meanwhile, two robbers looted US$7000 and Rs35,000 from a passenger outside the Islamabad airport and escaped, police said.

Anwar Khan, a resident of Sheikhupura, lodged an FIR with the airport police saying that he reached Islamabad airport in a taxicab after receiving the cash from his friend. The complainant said three persons travelling in a white car intercepted the taxi outside the airport and forced him at gunpoint to hand over the cash. Police said the robbers snatched the cash from Anwar Khan and escaped. Earlier, two house were looted in Islamabad, police said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Arif, a resident of G-9/3, complained to the Margalla police that some persons broke into his house in his absence and made off with cash, gold ornaments and prize bonds.
