Villagers hit by power failures

Published October 2, 2002

MARDAN, Oct 1: The residents of Rustam village, Mardan district, have complained about frequent loadsheddings in the area.

The prolonged spells of unannounced loadsheddings in Rustam village, 30 kilometres from here, have brought things to a standstill.

Sometimes, the power breakdown continues for 10 to 20 hours without any let up and there is no official to entertain the complaints of the people.

The power breakdowns have lead to acute water shortage in the area and people are running from pillar to post to get water for daily use.

The residents have asked the authorities to end the loadsheddings immediately to save the people from this crisis.
