COLOMBO, Sept 29: Opener Taufiq Umar struck an unbeaten 64 as Pakistan drew their three-day practice match against West Indies at Police Park Ground Sunday.

Pakistan, who were set a meaningless target of 283, reached 124 for two in their second innings. Taufiq’s 136-ball innings was laced with 10 fours. Younis Khan hit four boundaries in his 24 while putting on 59 for the unfinished third-wicket partnership.

Imran Nazir continued his poor form when he bowled by fast bowler Jermaine Lawson for nine. He was out in the same fashion Friday to left-arm paceman Pedro Collins.

Imran Farhat, the left-hander, was out for 16 to leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo.

Earlier, West Indies declared their second innings at 230 for seven having resumed at 46 for two.

Ryan Hinds made a solid 54, consuming 132 deliveries and stroking five fours and one six. Ramnaresh Sarwan, who put on 64 for the fifth wicket with Hinds, contributed 40 off 74 balls with six hits to the fence.

West Indian captain Carl Hooper was in aggressive mood ahead of forthcoming tour of India. The 35-year-old blasted five fours and a brace of sixes in an undefeated 37 off 27 balls.

Wicket-keeper Ridley Jacobs struck a breezy 34 off 27 balls, striking seven boundaries during the seventh-wicket stand of 61 with Hooper.

Pakistan now prepare to face Australia in the opening Test of the three-match series at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground from Thursday.
