KARACHI: Seven cars, 11 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Sept 27: Eighteen vehicles — seven cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, police said.

Three cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Five motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered four vehicles.

THEFT: Computer parts worth Rs45,000 were stolen from a cyber cafe inside the EOBI House, known as Awami Markaz, on late Thursday night.

According to the cafeowner, they closed the shop around 11:30 on Thursday night. On Friday morning, they found the shop’s door open and computers dismantled.

Processors, hard disks and rambs were missing from computers, the shopowner claimed.

“Several thefts and robberies have taken place lately at EOBI House, even though private security guards are deployed there,” the shopkeeper said.
