MIRPURKHAS: Rape victim attempts suicide

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 27: A young girl, a gang-rape victim, got injured when she tried to commit suicide after she was denied justice, at Kot Ghulam Mohammad town.

About one week ago, five persons had forcibly kidnapped an unmarried girl, (G), daughter of one Nazeer Ahmed, and gang raped her, leaving her unconscious.

Kot Ghulam Mohammad police did not register the case.

The victim, after not getting justice, tried to commit suicide, as a result, she sustained injuries.

Sources said the accused were influential people and had taken signature of the victim’s father on a plain paper and threatened him of dire consequences if he registered the case.

Nazeer, the father of the victim, told the newsmen that he was helpless before the police.

Meanwhile, an independent candidate for PS-67, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Ms Zahida Detho, Ghulam Mustafa Waheed of MQM and Sundar of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, met with victims father, and collected information about the incident.
