MIRPURKHAS, Sept 27: A large area of lower Sindh including Mirpurkhas District and Thar remained without electricity for 12 hours due to power breakdown on Friday.
Disruption in the power supply paralyzed life in the area.
The supply was disconnected from the Hala grid station, Hyderabad, when a fault developed at 3am. This affected the water supply system of several towns.
The affected areas included Naokot, Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar, Diplo, Chhachhro, Umerkot, Mirwah, Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad, Nabisar, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Jam.
The power supply was restored after 12 hours at 3pm.
PPP: Syed Qurban Ali Shah, People’s Party Parliamentarians candidate for NA-227, has said that real democracy could usher once again by casting the maximum number of votes for “democratic candidates”.
He said this while speaking at various villages of Digri Taluka on Friday.
Ghulam Nabi Junejo, Ghulam Mohammad Jarwar, Liaquat Ali, and Haider Bux Rustamani also spoke on the occasion.
INTERVIEWS: A selection board, comprising Fateh Mohammad Qureshi, Director General, Health Services, Hyderabad, and others conducted interviews for 50 posts of vaccinator in the district.
At least 1,500 candidates appeared for the interviews.
JSQM: The election of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Mirpurkhas district, was held here the other day under the supervision of Dr Haider Sindhi and Sarang Machhi.
Akram Qambrani was elected the president, Darya Khan Leghari vice-president, and Arjun Kumar Noonani was elected the general- secretary of the party.
