HYDERABAD, Sept 27: A constable of the police line, Fida Hussain Lashari, killed two of his daughters, Asma (6) and Saima (3), and seriously injured a third, Fareeda (13), in his house on late Thursday night.

He was said to be mentally upset and was under treatment since the last two years.

Fareeda, who suffered serious head injuries, has been admitted to the neurology ward of the civil hospital.

A police official confirmed that Fida Hussain Lashari killed his two daughters in Lashari Goth, near Hussainabad. He started beating his daughters with a lathi while they were sleeping.

His wife, Zahida, and sons started screaming for help. Soon the neighbours arrived and grabbed Lashari. He was handed over to the Hussainabad police station.

His wife and brother, who was also an ASI, claimed that Fida had been under treatment since the last two years.

The additional DPO, Sharjil Karim Kharal, told this correspondent that Fida had been on medical leave since the last 45 days.

He was being treated at the police hospital in the police headquarters.
