Asif Zardari appears in court

ATTOCK, Sept 24: Former senator and PPP leader Asif Zardari was produced before the judge of accountability court Attock, Chaudhry Mazhar Minhas, in a reference pertaining to illegal assets on Tuesday.

Prosecution witness Barrister Jawad Mirza presented more volumes of documentary evidence before the court against Asif Ali Zardari, the spouse of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. The evidence includes documents related to money transaction including bank accounts and offshore companies of accused Asif Ali Zardari and his family. The court later adjourned the hearing till October 3.

Irshad Tabraiz appeared as defence counsel while NAB was represented by Azmet Saeed. Later, Asif Ali Zardari was shifted to Pims Islamabad amid tight security.—Correspondent
