DHAKA, Sept 24: Financial irregularities by Bangladesh’s defence forces has caused a huge loss of 1,820 million takas to the exchequer since 1972, according to an audit report submitted to parliament last week.
Although the report focused on 44 cases outstanding since 1999-2000 involving an amount of 670 million takas, it also dwelt on financial irregularities that have been taking place since the country’s inception in 1971.
However, the irregularities during 1999-2000 were detected in various sectors.
