KARACHI, Nov 11: A meeting of more than 18 representative organizations demanded on Sunday the withdrawal of what they said anti-people laws at the earliest, according to a press release.
The meeting was of the view that the Ordinance 2000 on the dismissal from service and the Civil Servants Act 1973 were aimed at stopping the victims from seeking relief for court of law.
The participants were of the view that the withdrawal of all these ordinances was imperative because of the fact that these deprived an affected employee of a legal course to move court in case of a disciplinary action.
Besides Karachi, the organizations which took part in the deliberations were from Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Larkana.
Those who attended the meeting included the central paramedical staff association’s central president, Mohammed Musharraf, Zakir Husain, Mohammed Umar Dahiri, KDA Mazdoor Union president Abdul Mateen Waheed, general secretary Humayun Shakir, Sindh Employees Alliance’s additional general secretary Mubarak Ali Qaimkhani, All Sindh Teachers Association’s general secretary, Qazi Aminuddin, Mohammed Ali Kazmi, Central Organization of Lecturers’ vice president, Rashida Nusrat, Sindh Agriculture Workers Association’s provincial general secretary, Abdul Khaliq Jawwad, Sindh Professors Subjects Specialists Association’s chief organizer, Mohammed Iqbal Ahmed.
Others were the All Sindh Masjid School Teachers’ Association’s president, Husain Bakhsh Khamisani, Sindh Science Teachers Association’s president Mohammed Ismail Leghari, Pakistan paramedical staff association’s provincial chairman, Niaz Husain Bhutto, Sazda Employees Front (Thar region) president Abdul Ghani Katian, Municipal Employees Union (CBA) Mirphurkhas general secretary Malik Mohammed Ibrahim, Pakistan Nurses Association president Shazia Bhatti, Sindh Small Industries Corporation (Sukkur) president Manzoor Ahmed Memon, Sindh Female teachers association president Fauzia Khokhar and Resource Persons Association Sindh president Ali Nawaz Fazal.
