HYDERABAD, Sept 22: The office-bearers of the Tanzim-i- Asataza-i-Pakistan’s women wing have demanded of the chief election commissioner to ensure women teachers be posted at those polling stations which were near to their homes.
In a joint statement issued here on Sunday, the TAP women wing president, Khalida Perveen, vice president, Yasmin Javed and information secretary, Iffat Shahid, said the women teachers would not feel secure if they were deployed in far-flung areas.
They also appealed to the CEC to make separate arrangements for dispatching election material to polling stations.
MMA candidate: A spokesman for the Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal, in a statement issued here, has slammed the exclusion of the name of an MMA candidate for PS-49, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, from the final list of candidates issued by the Election Commission.
