KARACHI, Sept 21: Arshad Noor Khan, the Acting Administrative Judge (AAJ) of the anti-terrorism courts for Karachi, extended on Saturday till Sept 28 the date for submission of chargesheet against activists of the Harkatul Mujahideen Al-Almi.
Earlier, the Crime Investigation Department produced accused Nawab Khayyam, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Zakir, Mohammed Imran and Aminuddin in the court.
The accused are alleged to be a part of a conspiracy to kill General Pervez Musharraf on April 27. The accused are confined in Central Prison Karachi.
The AAJ also remanded an accused, Ateequr Rahman, in the custody of the CID till Sept 24. Police claim that the accused, allegedly a member of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, was involved in a grenade attack at the CID’s headquarters.
The AAJ also entrusted the trial of a kidnapping case to the ATC-3 and fixed Sept 28 for the commencement of trial. Kamran and his wife Sher Bano are accused of kidnapping Master Mohammed Bilal Raza, aged three, for ransom.
The accused demanded a ransom of Rs300,000. — APP
