LAHORE, Sept 20: Former world champion Jansher Khan will be seen in the squash court Monday after three years when he appears in the main qualifying round match of the Chief of the Naval Staff Squash Tournament.

Jansher who quit in 1999 due to fitness problems had withdrawn his retirement last month. Earlier, he had faced knee injury in 1997 which kept him out of the court for two years.

“I am quite fit for the game and by the grace of God will win the tournament. I am doing four hours training daily with one and a half hour gym and game training each and one hour jogging”, Jansher told Dawn Friday.

Jansher said that although he was 100 percent fit but he would play in the CNS and later Chief of the Air Staff tournament next month to check his fitness.

“I am assessing my performance and in this regard I am playing minor international tournaments and if I considered that I am not playing well then I will not play continuously, but the way I am playing and doing tough practice the poor performance is out of question”, the veteran of eight World Open titles said.

While replying to a question, Jansher said that there were no proper training facilities and guidance for the younger lot that was why the World was not getting talented squash players from Pakistan.
