Woman killed as fireworks explode

OKARA, Sept 19: A woman was killed and her husband injured seriously as fireworks exploded near Deepalpur.

Sources said one Manzoor Ahmad of Sarai Amar Singh was manufacturing fireworks at his house when the material caught fire and exploded. His wife, Akbran Bibi, died on the spot as her clothes caught fire while Mr Ahmad was burnt critically. Mr Ahmad was admitted to hospital.

Police have registered the case against Bashir Ahmad, who sells the explosive material at Hujra Shah Muqeem.
