PESHAWAR, Sept 18: The National Database Registration Authority has asked the authorities concerned to charge Rs35, the original price of the computerised ID cards from the tribal people, instead of charging extra amount from them, official sources said.
Nadra chairman through a letter explained the matter to the NWFP governor and requested him to direct the authorities concerned not to charge additional amount under the head of electricity from the residents of Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
The political authorities had been charging Rs300 per ID card from the tribesmen to expedite the recovery of electricity dues in Fata. This action forced people to stop collection of ID cards from Nadra offices.
“Nadra chairman has directed the political agents to stop this practice forthwith and provide ID cards to the tribesmen on original price,” a source in the Nadra regional office said and added that mobile teams would be sent to different areas to distribute and collect the ID cards forms.
