LAHORE, Oct 25: Khana-i-Farhang (Iranian culture centre) organised a prize-distribution ceremony on Monday to honour the winners of various contests the centre held among students of various local schools.
The competitions in painting, calligraphy, travelogue writing and learning the Holy Quran by heart were part of an art festival organised in connection with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Raza (AS) at the cultural centre.
Centre’s Director General Dr Abbas Famoori and Counsel General Ali Nikan were also present on the occasion. In the painting competition held among schoolchildren in 6 to 10 years age group – Group A – the top three positions were respectively clinched by Iqra Tahir and Amna Batool, both of Divisional Public School (DPS) and Maisel of Al Imran School.
In (painting) Group B, Shabbir Husain Khan and Saha Ali, both from Garrison School, stood first and second, respectively, while Bilal Ahmed Jaffri from the Government Muslim Model High School secured the third position.
In calligraphy (Group A) Asim Ali, Syed Muhammad Inshal Ghazi and Syed Muhammad Zubair bagged the first second and third positions, respectively. They all were from Kingslay School System.
In Group B Shabbir Hasan Khan (Garrison School) won the first position, Laiba Arif (Students Paradise Academy) stood second and Zainab Hasan Khan Niazi (DPS) got the third position.
