KARACHI: Three die in road accidents

KARACHI, Sept 16:Reckless driving claimed at three lives in the city on Monday.

Nasir Jamal, aged 17, was knocked down by a speeding minibus at Liaquatabad No 10. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police claimed to have arrested the bus driver and impounded the vehicle.

An unidentified ten-year-old boy was run over by a speeding water tanker in Sector 11-D, near Masjid-i-Quba, in Orangi Extension. He died on the spot.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem, police said.

The tanker driver escaped after the accident.

An unidentified man, who was in his mid-50s, died in a hit-and-run accident in Gulzar-i-Hijri.

Police said the unidentified man was knocked down by an unknown vehicle while walking across Super Highway near Al-Asif Square.

He died on way to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

KILLED: An unidentified man was found murdered on Seaview beach on late Sunday night.

An unidentified man was found dead on the beach. The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for post-mortem, police said.

Sources at the hospital said that the man was hit with a hard and blunt object on the head.

The body was handed over to the Edhi Foundation following post-mortem.

Police registered a case against unknown suspects at Darkhshan police station.
