KARACHI, Sept 15: Pakistan’s top cueists will start their build-up for the XVII Asian Games by featuring in the 16th Latif Masters Snooker Championship which breaks off at the Karachi Club Billiards Hall from Monday.
The last national ranking event of year carries cash awards worth Rs240,000 with the winner taking Rs100,000 and runners-up pocketing Rs60,000.
Country’s 16 premier cuemen, including arch-rivals Muhammad Yousuf and Saleh Muhammad, and Pakistan number one Khurram Hussain Agha and Naveen Perwani are also appearing in the competition.
Farhan Mirza’s participation was doubtful as he was still in Sweden. He was informed the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) that he was injured in a freak accident.—APP
