President returns from US

ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: President Gen Pervez Musharraf returned home late on Saturday evening from New York, after undertaking a week-long visit.

He was received by Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman Gen Mohammad Aziz Khan, Army Staff Vice Chief Gen Mohammad Yousuf and other high civil and military officials.

During his stay in the US, the president visited Boston, Chicago and New York.

He addressed the 57th session of the UN General Assembly to highlight the importance of the Kashmir issue for regional peace and stability.

The president held important meetings with his US, Afghan, Albanian and Bulgarian counterparts, and also met the Denmark premier.

He also addressed meetings of various social and government organizations there and had extensive media engagements with Christian Science Monitor, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNN and FOX News during his stay.—APP
