ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: The People’s Party Parliamenta-rians (PPP) will kick off its election campaign in Multan on Monday.
This announcement was made by the acting secretary- general of the PPP, Mian Raza Rabbani, at a press conference here on Sunday.
He said the rulers had thrown all the laws and norms in an attempt to oust Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto from the political arena, but they would find to their horror that the party would be a winner again.
Mr Rabbani said the party had given almost 1,000 tickets to its candidates for the national and provincial assemblies. Conspiracies against the biggest political party of the country were in fact conspiracies against the country, he added.
The PPP had prepared a plan for giving jobs to unemployed youths and all those, who had been thrown out, would be reinstated, he said, claiming that the country’s economy would flourish only when the PPP took over power.
The PPP leader said the government was presenting mini-budgets every fortnight by making an upward adjustment in the prices of petroleum products. His party, he added, would provide relief to the consumers and would ensure that all the federating units got their due rights.
Mr Rabbani reiterated his party’s resolve to struggle for restoring the 1973 Constitution. He said the PPP would also continue its struggle against the generals and dictators.
