MIANWALI, Sept 15: Local District and Sessions Judge Rao Akbar Ali on Saturday recorded statements of two more legal heirs to the deceased in Abbakhel case.
Deceased Noor Khan’s son Muhammad Abdullah Khan and daughter Mehr Khatoon confirmed the compromise under the qisas law. According to the list of deceased’s legal heirs provided by Mianwali tehsildar, Noor Khan’s widow Mst Bakht Khatoon and Saadullah’s mother Mst Daulat, are left to record their statements. On their confirmation, convicts Sardar Khan, Muhammad Akram Khan, Muhammad Ashraf Khan and Asmatullah Khan will be released from the Central Jail.
Interestingly, the convicts are still counting moments for release even after two months of the deal and payment of the amount.
A notable of Abbakhel told this correspondent that the large sum of qisas had created rift among the complainants over distribution of share. That is why they were recording their statements in instalments, he said.
He claimed the two women, who had to record their statements, were demanding more money than their respective shares and their family members were convincing them not to do so. Both are expected to appear before the court on next hearing on Sept 18.
