Employees await salaries

Published September 14, 2002

SKARDU, Sept 13: At least 16 employees of Dumsum Hydel Power Station have not been paid their salaries for the last four months.

The employees told Dawn that though they had been performing duties honestly and devotedly, they were not being paid their salaries, which was unjust.

“If the authorities do not make arrangements to pay our salaries, our children will face acute starvation in the coming days,” an employee remarked.

“When we lodged complaints, the authorities said that they had no funds for this purpose”, another one said.
