KARACHI: 18 PPP workers arrested

KARACHI, Sept 13: Eighteen workers of the People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP), including twelve women, were arrested for breach of peace here on Friday.

The PPP workers had gathered outside Sindh High Court before the announcement of judgments on the appeals in connection with elections 2002. They were barred from entering the court building and later were even not allowed to enter the court premises.

Heavy contingents of police were deployed to maintain law and order.

The arrested workers were taken to the Artillery Maidan police station where an FIR, under section 147/148 of the PPC, was registered against Nasreen Chandio, Saira Baloch, Muneer Fatima, Nazeeran, Saeeda Barq, Mehrunnisa, Shehnaz, Farzana, Shazia, Gul Saba, Zaitoon, Noorunnisa, Azizur Rehman, Mohammad Ameer Gabol, Mohammad Akram Gondal, Mushtaq, Faquira and Zareef.
