KARACHI, Sept 12: A meeting was held here at the Governor’s House on Thursday to review the prevailing situation on the campus, where an ugly incident, involving students, teachers and rangers took place on Sept 7.

Official sources said the D-G Rangers, Major General Salahuddin Satti, and Principal Secretary to the Governor, Brig Akhtar Zamin, discussed the prevailing situation and reviewed the remedial measures taken, so far.

It was observed in the meeting that there was no reason for further agitation on the campus as major demands of teachers had already been met and necessary directives had been issued to KU administration.

However, during the meeting, the higher officials opined that in view of the demand by the Karachi University Teachers’ Society, a meeting between the Sindh Governor, Mohammadmian Soomro, and a delegation of the KUTS could also be arranged.
